Five stars honestly aren't enough. From start to finish, Uncle Rico's delivers one of the best pizza experiences I've had. It's not just the pizza that keeps me coming back, it's the people. I usually call my order in, and every single time the staff is friendly, patient, and never makes me feel rushed. If I have questions about a pizza, they're happy to answer them. They also give realistic pickup times, and they're consistently accurate. If they say it'll be 45 minutes, it's ready in 45 minutes. That kind of reliability is rare and very much appreciated. Now, let's talk about the pizza. Absolutely incredible. The undercarriage is perfectly baked with little to no flop, a great crunch, and a crust that's outstanding. Every ingredient tastes fresh, and the toppings are perfectly balanced so no single flavor overpowers the others. You can tell a lot of care goes into every pie they make. I've eaten pizza all over Florida, and I can honestly say I haven't found another place that compares. Uncle Rico's has one of the best flavor profiles I've ever had, and it's easily my favorite pizza in the state. If you're anywhere near Fort Myers, do yourself a favor and give Uncle Rico's a try. You won't be disappointed. Yum!!
So I live about an hour above Fort Myers in Port Charlotte, and a friend of mine lives about an hour and a half below Fort Myers in Ave Maria and both of us have been hearing all over social media about Uncle Rico‘s pizza. Today I met up with my daughter who goes to school in Ft Myers and finally got a chance to check it out. Sunday most of the staff just got out of church and to work which was pretty awesome so I really liked that about this family that owns the business. The place was packed. We ordered a couple cheese slices and some grandma slices, and garlic knots. The food was amazing. My daughter and I couldn’t get over how the grandma slices were so crispy, light and what a sweet sauce. The garlic knots were soft tasty and great. Most places don’t even know how to make garlic knots. They nailed it. The pizza was awesome. Definitely it’s a takeout spot right now because there’s very limited seating. I heard they’re expanding into the next storefront. This will be awesome for them. Hands down the best pizza in Fort Myers maybe even all of Southwest Florida l. Please go check out this local business. A++++ NY pizza snob loves Uncle Rico’s pizza !!!!
BEST PIZZA IN FLORIDA!! I've reviewed hundreds of places and this is by far at the top! ❤️ 🍕 This has been on my must try list for a long time now. Being over 3 hours away (6 hours round trip), I was really hoping this would be great. I've been let down tons of times as I've often been led to believe its better than it is based on pizza looks great on social, someone in a group recommends it or it wins some local poll on best pizza. Rico is the mastermind behind one of the most amazing NY pizzas I've ever had. I briefly saw Rico at Pizza Expo but didn't formally meet him at that time, as he was busy competing. It was great to finally meet him today! I knew I either wanted to try the Angry Burrata or the Vodka Stracciatella. Since this place is an organized madhouse because they are so busy all the time (and I now understand why), I opted for slices: ANGRY BURRATA Mozzarella, Ezzo pepperoni, Burrata, Mike's hot honey, Fresh Basil and Parmesan This was only $4.25, which still blows my mind. I spent $15.50 at Miami Slice on Vegas (Pepperoni Proper All Kicks) which is very similar toppings and Uncle Rico's was 100x better! It was so good, I had to order a 2nd slice before leaving! This is seriously top 3 for me when it comes to NY artisanal pizza. This is one example that can hang with the best in the business. Below are some examples of my faves when it comes to this style and Uncle Rico's can absolutely hang in the same league: L'industrie; Jonny's; LTD; Mama's TOO; CERES; Brooklyn D.O.P.; Mano's; Andrea's L'industrie still has the edge but lots of similarities and at $4.25/slice or $26 for a large, that's just insane. I asked Rico's wife (Cira), who was insanely nice as well, why their prices are so low for a product of this quality, and her response was they want to provide a good value to their customers while still being able to pay their staff and remain profitable. They are incredibly good people and they recently were all over the news for starting the "free pizza for TSA workers" in recent weeks, in which tons of other businesses followed suit. This is one of those pizzas that I'll be thinking about and I'll be making the trek again in the near future, ideally with some members of my own pizza group as I host monthly Pizza Crawls.
This was my first time at Unc Rico’s and they made me a pizza that was a little more burnt than they had expected. I was about to take the pizza but just needed to see what the bottom of the pizza looked like to make sure it wasn’t burnt. The lady who seems to be one of the owners (black long ponytail) proceeded to touch the pizza to lift it up with her unwashed bare hands. I did not physically see her wash her hands and she was previously working the cash register touching cash /answering the phones/writing down orders prior to touching my pizza. So she offered to make the pizza again but shouted to the back workers that I asked her to touch the pizza and then proceeded to speak in Spanish. I also speak Spanish and felt what she did was 1. Unsanitary 2. Unprofessional. I was okay with the pizza but not okay with an employee touching the pizza with unwashed hands. That is not sanitary and definitely not my fault.. please do better. Aside from that I’m sure the pizza is amazing based on the reviews. But needed to share what my 1st experience was.
Self proclaimed pizza snob. Tried Uncle Rico’s from someone’s recommendation. We had it delivered and it did not disappoint. Add the pizza rolls to your order. Our new favorite pizza in Ft Myers. Can’t wait to try the other specialty pizzas.
