As a visitor from Mexico spending my vacation in San Diego, I had a great experience at Stout Public House. I stopped by for a few beers and some snacks before a concert, and everything was excellent. The location is perfect, just a short walk from House of Blues. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was friendly, and it was a great place to start the evening. I would definitely visit again on my next trip.
Awesome little Irish Pub. Stopped in after I checked in pretty late. Cool little patio out front. Great place...tall bartender was a real jerk. Didn't come back the two weeks I was there because of him. Really wanted to, bummer.
Great place to have a beer and eat. Several types of beer. Special mention for Adrian, the bartender, always gentle and kind. Great guy. If you’re going to eat, try the sandwich The Reuben! Delicious.
I am extremely disappointed with the treatment I received at this bar. I walked in with my stroller, which was full of groceries, and immediately felt judged. The bartender, Adrian, insisted that I pay for my drink upfront instead of allowing me to start a tab like other customers. It felt as though he assumed I would leave without paying simply because of my appearance or because I had a stroller with groceries. What made this experience even more upsetting is that I have visited this bar before and never received this kind of treatment. The service was completely different, and I was treated with respect. This time, however, I felt singled out and discriminated against. Every customer deserves to be treated fairly and without assumptions being made about them. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. Because of how I was treated by Adrian, I will never be coming back.
Walked in sat down and had to chase down the wait staff to get service. Door is open so the cigarette smoke was coming in from the patio where people were chain smoking. Order grilled cheese and fries because I thought no one can mess that up. But ya know what they sure did. Fries were cold and the cheese was fully melted. Definitely would suggest unless you like cigarette smoke and cold fries.
