I have been going to Roots Salon for years and I am ALWAYS thrilled with my time spent there as well as the results. Every time I visit, I LOVEEEE to get the Aveda tea! The vibe is so cozy. Not only can you tell the team takes pride in the salon itself, but you can tell it’s a true team atmosphere. I usually see Amanda however I have had services from Shannon and Kenzie as well and have always been happy. I know that no matter who I visit I am going to be happy. Kenzie is the resident curly girl specialist and she’s been giving me great tips to guide me with styling my waves. Amanda has been my girl for years and Shannon is amazing. I think the prices are very fair and I always feel very well taken care of. I get a copper color and it always lasts very long, does not come off on my clothes or bedding, and the best part is people always think this is my natural hair color LOL!! The salon is also a staple in the community because they always give back especially to Cape Coral Animal Shelter. Everyone is so warm and welcoming to all people of all ages.
Amanda did such a great job with my hair! I came in with very bland, dry, brown hair and she gave me what I wanted without damaging it horribly. I am obsessed thank you Amanda:). Prices were also totally reasonable considering I was there for four hours lol
The first four pictures are after I had my hair done. I went in because I had started noticing a demarcation line and darker root area as my hair grew out. This salon had actually done my previous root touch-ups, which is what led to the darker root and the line starting to form. I brought a photo of my hair from my regular salon in Iowa along with the exact formula they use, so there was a clear reference for how it should look. The last picture is what my hair looked like before I ever started going to this salon, when my regular stylist in Iowa was doing it. Instead of listening, I spent about 30 minutes going back and forth with the owner and stylist explaining what I was seeing and why I was concerned about banding. Eventually the conversation basically ended with, “This is what we’re going to do, just sit there.” So I did. And exactly what I was worried about happened. After 3 hours and $140, I ended up with visible banding and a dull, uneven color. When I first pointed it out, the response was immediate denial — “Your hair is still wet,” or “It’s just the lighting.” But when it was time to check out and I continued to point out the issue, suddenly it became my fault. I was told that if I had just let her highlight it instead, I wouldn’t have the darker band. To make it worse, not once was there an offer to fix it, even after I explained that I have a wedding coming up and was trying to get my hair corrected before then. That’s frustrating because the entire reason I spoke up in the first place was to avoid exactly this result.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about the entire team at Roots Hair Salon. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, friendly, and incredibly inviting. Everything in the salon is beautifully maintained and very well kept, which immediately makes you feel relaxed and comfortable. While you wait, they even offer a foot massage, which is such a thoughtful and relaxing touch. Amanda is extremely knowledgeable and took the time to understand my goal of growing out my grays while still keeping my hair healthy and beautiful. It was clear that she truly knows how to work with Black hair and how to manage the gray grow-out process in a way that looks natural and flattering. The wash room is absolutely heaven-sent. The chairs are so comfortable and the space has such a calming, peaceful feeling. Shannon was incredibly accommodating and kind. I was dealing with a neck issue during my visit, and they went above and beyond by bringing me ice packs while Amanda worked on my hair. They even told me I could take the ice pack home and return it later if I needed to, that level of care is rare. Hands down, this is the BEST place I have ever had my hair done. The professionalism, knowledge, kindness, and attention to the entire team!
I had a really nice experience at Roots Hair Salon. I went in for a shampoo, haircut, and blowdry and left really happy with how everything turned out. My stylist listened to what I wanted and did a great job bringing it to life. My hair felt soft, looked healthy, and had great volume after the blowout. Everyone there was friendly and the vibe was really comfortable. I left feeling so good about my hair. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a salon in Cape Coral!
