One of my favorite places to visit in SD. Love the speakeasy vibe. The bartenders are awesome... I saw they had some fresh watermelon puree available so told the bartender to just make something with it. The music as always is phenomenal! Just a wonderful gem smack in the middle of Gaslamp! Weekdays so no cover but I had paid cover (cash only) on the weekends.

I really like the vibe. We sat at the bar. Best place to get good drink tips from the bartenders. Lots of hand crafted cocktails to sample from all different types of liquor. But let's be honest really keep coming back for the vibe.

No advertising, no promos, no neon lights in front.... gosh, the IS NO "front"! Its just word-of-mouth. Basically, IYKYK. Thats impressive! Its like you're part of some secret society. It felt illegal to be there, or even know about it. Yes, its true, they dont have vodka. Just ask the bartender for a gin without juniper berry. You wont know the difference.

Outstanding atmosphere! I love a good speakeasy. Although this one was fairly easy to find (some have secret doors etc.) the actual speakeasy itself was delightful. Live jazz, great vibe, and seem to be filled with a lot of locals. Wonderful red lighting. And a light that came on every time a patron entered and came down the steps, just like a real speakeasy. Such fun! However, I was really about to write a mixture of a review until the bartender went above and beyond on something. I had ordered a daiquiri. And I talked to the bartender about it. “Will you make a real daiquiri, fresh squeezed lime, like I get a Cuba?” He assured me that his daiquiri skills were up to par. And then we talked about the different rums, and I told him “bartender’s choice.” And when the drink came, it was wonderful and full of fresh squeezed lime, but it tasted rather off. And I thought perhaps it was just the rums that he chose, and I did not want to complain. After all, it had a lot of fresh squeezed lime in it. I love something like cachaca, but it’s salty, so I thought perhaps he chose a rum that I did not have before and it had a bit of a chalky/coffee taste. About 15 minutes into my drink he showed up with an entirely new daiquiri for me. He said that the simple syrup had been in a container that had coffee in it, so that’s what was giving my drink a bit of a coffee taste. He totally gave me a free new drink. And it tasted… Perfect!

Awesome spot! The drinks are top-tier and the live music creates the perfect vibe. Just a heads up: get here early if you want to snag a seat, as it fills up fast.
