Unfortunately, this place felt very overrated and not worth the price on our recent visit. The food quality was underwhelming, especially compared to how we remembered it from previous trips when the dining experience felt much more special and memorable. The atmosphere also felt dated and tired, lacking the charm we had expected. Service was adequate, but we did feel rushed throughout the meal, which took away from what should have been a relaxed dining experience. We dined as two couples, and the bill was shockingly high given the small portions and overall quality of the food. To make matters worse, when the check was presented, the tip was pre-set to 25%. I also caught an additional 5% fee added to the bill. The fee was explained as a “cost of living” increase, which felt misleading and unnecessary — especially given the already high prices. It essentially amounted to an extra charge that was not clearly disclosed upfront. For the amount paid (over $400 bucks and we brought our own bottle of wine), we expected a far more elevated and transparent experience. Sadly, this visit did not live up to past memories or the restaurant’s reputation. We all decided this would be our last trip, as we would rather hold on to the good ol’ day memories and give a new location a chance to eat our future business. We have no issues paying top dollar for rewarding dining experiences, this simply was not one of them. Note: Both of our waiters were great and had deep knowledge of the menu, we want to make it clear we appreciated the service.

We had not planned on visiting! However, randomly and surprisingly stumbled upon this location in San Diego. Our local Melting Pot formerly located in Larkspur, CA closed quite a few years ago. The service was delightful. We appreciated our server, Shauna whom made our dining experience extra special. Food was presented well and portions quite generous. Enjoyed our visit on the fly as an amazing experience. Thank you, Shauna.

I’ve been to several Melting Pot locations, and while I understand this was Valentine’s Day and they were extremely busy, the service was pretty rough. We repeatedly had to remind staff about items missing from our order when it arrived at the table, including allergy substitutions. Dirty dishes would sit for a long time, leaving barely any room between courses. At times, it was at least an hour before we moved to the next course. During that time, we were completely finished and just sitting with dirty plates, including raw meat remnants, still on the table. We were a party of 9. In total, we were there for over four and a half hours and left immediately after finishing dessert. The length of our visit wasn’t because we wanted to linger; it simply took that long to get through the process. At other locations, I would expect the full experience to take around two hours maximum. I understand it was a busy holiday, but perhaps better staffing or preparation was needed, because it ended up being a very long experience. The food quality when we did get the correct items was great and atmosphere/decor was very cozy inside. The following day, we visited a location in Colorado and had a completely different experience with phenomenal service.

First time ever! Shaunna, the Hospitality Manager she served our party of 4 on 04/15/26. This was after our visit to Sea World. She answered all our questions and gave us recommendations. We did the four-course meal. (spanish artichoke as the cheese, caesar and strawberry almond salad, coco-vigne as our cooking style, did the steak lovers, and we did lastly the dark and dulce for chocolate.) Everything was delicious. Shaunna was amazing. She was helpful. She definitely served us and gave us an experience we will never forget. For sure out of 10, it is a 10. We would love to come back. We were full but we are happy to leave happy and full thanks to the Melting Pot Staff and especially Shaunna. Thank you! And definitely look out for Shaunna, she is AMAZING!!!!

The service wasn't great. Our waiter disappeared for long intervals and other service staff needed to assist us. This is about $65 per person base for a 4 course meal. Alcoholic drinks were about $16.50 and sodas were $4.25. This is a very fun experience where you cook your own food (you need you use your own timer). The bathrooms are inconvenient down two flights of stairs. The food was amazing and there was plenty of it. I don't eat red meat and there was only one option for veggie, chicken or pork each. There is also a 5% fee for everything due to "off setting rising costs". I got the ceasar salad, it's fishy, so don't order that if you don't like fish.
