A small, intimate Japanese restaurant with authentic, high quality sushi. Pro tip: Thursday nights are a definite must visit! That's when they get their fresh fish delivery, and you can really taste the difference in the quality and vibrancy of the seafood.

UPDATE: I revisited and such a disappointment. I ordered IKKAI Special and the rice was little undercooked(hard) and I found the little bone piece in the fish. The two high quality sushi was good but the rest tastes so cheap and chewy I had to spit it out. I hope this happens as one time thing but I don't know if I'll ever come back. Also, my favorite roll which was their best menu got disappeared which makes no more reason for me to go. Why did they change everything? 🤷‍♀️Seems like most of their employees got changed too.. MUST GO RESTAURANT!!! Authentic Japanese restaurant with high quality food options you can have in America. Chill, deemed environment to relax and enjoy your food. I just love so much😭 it is sooo good. Tastes same as eating in Japan.

Perfect little sushi spot in the heart of downtown Naperville! I ordered the Ikkai special, grinch roll and tuna tartar. The quality of the fish was top notch and presentation was even better. Great service and great kids menu! Definitely making this my main sushi spot! Thanks Ikkai!

First time here and I’m fully obsessed! Everything tastes sooo good, music is great. Looks like a small place, but it’s cozy and makes you want to come back again. Highly recommend to everyone.

I came to IKKAI on memorial day weekend on a Sunday with two friends for lunch. It was surprisingly not too busy and we were able to be seated immediately. We were able to order from the dinner menu when we visited. Note: Outside drinks are not allowed -- but the staff stored our drinks in the fridge as we ate. We ordered the Ikkai Sashimi ($40), the Main Street Roll ($13) and the Sake don ($35). The Sashimi and Sake don came with a salad and miso soup which were decent. The Sashimi was overall good and plated beautifully, although the cuts were smaller than average. There were two different kinds of salmon -- my guess is salmon and ora salmon. The ora salmon (fattier) tasted especially fishy, as if it wasn't super fresh; however, everything else was great. The sake don came with a lot of pieces of salmon and some baked salmon with mayo on the side, which was a nice surprise. My friend said that the main street roll was the best crab roll she has ever tried (she loves crab). Overall, I would say that the value of what we ordered was not bad. The taste of the sushi was also good for the area. The portions are definitely smaller, but the presentation was definitely a nice touch. I will definitely return to try other dishes in the future!
