My wife and I recently booked a half day trip with Capt. Fred while staying in Bonita Springs at the Hyatt Regency. I communicated with Fred in advance with several questions. He was always prompt and flexible with his desire to provide an optimum day for each of our interests. We met him at a boat ramp county park nearby and his boat was in the water and ready to depart. Our trip down a backwaters river was quite interesting with lots of shorebirds and even a bald eagle sighting. His 20' boat was very stable and spacious for the three of us. He used his geo-positioning ability via his trolling motor to keep us positioned during our first fishing spot. Almost immediately my wife hooked and brought in a legal redfish which we set aside for dinner, and then switched over to catch and release. His fishing gear and fresh live bait were optimum for our targeted species of snook & redfish... which we caught multiples of each. The biggest thing about fishing with Capt. Fred is that he is a very pleasant person, and was always eager to chat or help in any way. I'm posting a few pics, but there were many more vistas and amazing Florida gamefish throughout the day. He also found a local restaurant that would "cook your catch," which was an amazing restaurant (The Fish House)! I can strongly recommend that you consider booking with Capt. Fred!!
Fred took my family out to Hickory Island to fish and explore, then took us into the river for more fishing. He helped my kid land a 24" snook, which was incredibly exciting! Very fun day, great tour guide, really good guy to talk to. Next time we vacation in Florida, we will call Fred again.
Booked a 4 hour trip with Fred. He is amazing! Put us right on the fish! Over 25 snook in the first hour. We caught huge red fish too! Three of us fishing, at one time, and he kept our poles baited and in water. He knows the spots, for sure. Highly recommended!! Thank you Fred!
I normally am a Gulf fishing person. A friend recommended Fred to go out freshwater fishing for Peacock Bass. I contacted Fred Gowdy charters. I had a fantastic day. We boated probably 20 fish. Even got a 4 lb Peacock!!! Fred is great to fish with!! Knowledgeable and fun to be with. I will be referring other friends to him.
Wonderful day of Peacock Bass fishing with Fred! He knows where and how to find them! A lesson in how to site fish for them and get them to attack. Everything you need and the advice to just reel and not set the hook!
